Ossett and Horbury – 23 May 26

Bank Holiday weekend and the weather was perfect for cycling,  sunny, but not too hot.

Several members of TT getting ready to get going. One pair are stood next to their tandem, another is arranging gear they have into a bag on the floor.

With many away and some last minute changes to the logistics,  we rolled out of TT HQ with 4 tandems and 2 solo bikes.

There are many twists and turns at the start of this ride to access the Ossett Greenway  at Saviletown. Our most recently inducted  pilot rode with a sighted stoker due to illness of our real VI stoker.

Several tandems bikes and a red solo bike propped up against street furniture including against a bin and against a railing around a tree
A perfectly good place to park a tandem or 4!

We made good time to Ossett where all riders opted to tackle the longer route via Horbury. A couple of minor routing glitches couldn’t dampen spirits as the sun peeped out at us, and we sailed downhill to Horbury, then 2 left turns to point us back towards our cafe stop at Gracie’s where we enjoyed the shade of the canopy.

Refreshed, we waved goodbye to one solo rider and enjoyed the wind in our hair all the way back to Dewsbury.
Thank you to all who made the effort, such a great bunch of thoughtful and kind people .
