Five tandem teams took the gently climbing roads out of Mirfield and on to Hartshead Moor. Here we wave a swift and exhilarating loop via Clifton village, back to Hartshead Church.
A re-group by the ancient church at Hartshead, then easy riding downhill to Cleckheaton,  where we joined the Spen Valley Greenway.

A group of 4, 2 male ad 2 female, sit opposite each other on a wooden picnic table. There are cycling helmets, water bottles and empty plates in front of them.
Refreshments acquired

Everyone opted to turn left to Low Moor Station,  before a gentle descent to say Hi to Hayley at  The Sunflower Pot Cafe.

A man and a woman sit either side of a chrome bistro table. They are both smiling at the camera. The woman is poised to eat her sandwich.
Enjoying a buttie at the Sunflower Pot Cafe

The sun shone brightly for our return towards TT HQ, smiles all round. 😁

  1. Sounds like a great ride. I’m looking forward to riding this route in the near future

  2. Great ride, great weather on quiet
roads. Lovely food and drink served up at The Sunflower Pot cafe towards the end of the ride.

  3. Due to there being a very very busy gala in OSSETT town Centre And the surroundings we decided to swiftly change to a different route but still from storage And I must say this has become my favourite as a Stoker. I really enjoyed cycling through the little villages and especially the ones local to me around Heart‘s head Clifton and Cleckheaton. As I do walk around this area with My Guide Dog. So it was quite nice for a change to inform my pilot of all the local. Attractions. It was a pleasantly undulating ride so we definitely earned our BUTTY at our favourite café on the Greenway. where Hayley at her sunflower café. served up lots of lovely refreshments.
We then returned back to our Mirfield HQ after a lovely 22 1/2 mile ride on a beautiful day🤩
