Dalby Forest – 18 Jul 26

After the seering heat of the last few weeks it was a much cooler day for our jaunt around the wonderful Dalby Forest in North Yorkshire.

Four tandems and a solo made it around the forest tracks which are mostly on compacted gravel so care was required particularly on the corners.

The ride is slightly undulating but mostly flat through the trees emerging onto an escarpment with great views over the valley below.

The end of the ride was a 4 mile stretch mostly downhill to the visitor centre on fresh tarmac,  an opportunity to pick up some speed for some.

A group of trekkers sit around a large farmhouse style table in the centre of a busy cafe. The room is light and airy with white walls and exposed pine coloured beams. The group are all sat looking at the camera smiling with empty plates and cups infront of them onthe table.
What a great find- another cafe to put on the list!

On reaching the cafe at the visitor centre we discovered that there was a power cut, but undeterred Lou found a terrific cafe and farm shop just outside Pickering.  So we went there!

All in all another great day out with Tandem Trekkers.
