Track and induction session:
What a glorious day to be out on a bike! Today we had three new pilots and two new stokers joining us for an induction into the mysterious world of tandem riding with Tandem Trekkers. Six of our existing pilots and three of our stokers also took part, some to practice their own skills, some to share the love of riding on a bicycle made for two with our new members, and to share the work too. We even had two new cycling couples to welcome into the Trekkers family, and not forgetting Iona the guide dog who lay patiently on the grass.
We learnt about important pre-ride checks to our cycles and our clothing before attempting a series of manoeuvres and junctions likely to be encountered on our rides, but on the safety of the track.
Everyone improved in confidence and by the time we descended onto the café terrace the buzz was about what we might do on our next ride!
