The forecast was for wall to wall sunshine, it turns out, the weather had other ideas.
The six tandem crews arriving at Birkin Fisheries were greeted by a rather grey morning that felt more like late autumn than early spring.
Yes – spring officially starts on the 21st March!
Still, spirits weren’t dampened for long. “Don’t worry,” came the reassuring call, “it’s due to lift by lunchtime!” And, to be fair, it did… just as we rolled back in at the end of the ride.
Weather aside, the outing itself was a real pleasure. Quiet country roads, good company, and plenty of laughs along the way made it enjoyable from start to finish. Of course, it was all rounded off perfectly with some well-earned, excellent butties, cakes and coffee at the cafe.
A special mention as well — it was absolutely lovely to see old faces returning, we’re all hoping to see much more of you as the season gets underway.
