\u2018twas a dark and gloomy morn upon the Mountain (ie Queensbury) and the day remained dark and gloomy for the entre ride with an exceptionally strong wind. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The tide was right up to the jetty where the caf\u00e9 sits when we reached Morecambe, waves breaking over it at the furthest point. We sat inside which is a first for us there! It\u2019s also the first time I\u2019ve seen the tide actually in, as opposed to out, on Morecambe visits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

On the way out from Glasson we omitted the turn onto the main road at Halton Bridge as it was decided that climbing up and over to Hest Bank in the wind that was blowing was not a great idea so instead we continued on the cycle path as far as The Crook o\u2019 Lune. We then retraced our route back into Lancaster and rode to Morecambe on the cycleway that we usually ride to come back from Morecambe, which we did once we had lunched.
( This was very distressing to me personally as I have a rule never to return by the same route I took going out!\u00a0 Ah well\u2026.)<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite the horrendous wind it did not really trouble us as the vast majority of the cycle path is sheltered by tree cover. Rain had been forecast around lunch time but did not materialise until we were close to getting back to Glasson but luckily for all concerned it didn\u2019t cause an issue.<\/p>\n\n\n\n


Another dry Trek. Yeah!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
